Visitation is scheduled every Saturday and Sunday from 1-2pm.

Due to the nature of the treatment that we provide all our residents with at McDowell Center for Children; safety is our top priority. In keeping with this priority, all visitation rules will be strictly enforced.

When visiting the facility, please arrive at your scheduled time, follow all visitation rules, and the McDowell Center for Children dress code.

Outgoing phone calls can be made by residents 2 days a week

The admissions process typically takes about one to two hours dependent on how long the psychological evaluation takes, but our staff will work with you to make the process as easy as possible.

Our program is designed to be 3 to 5 months. However, we create individualized treatment plans to meet the needs of each resident.

McDowell Center for Children does not have a religious affiliation, but residents are provided opportunities to explore their beliefs. There is a bible study twice per month for those who want to attend.

Yes, residents can earn home and day passes as they progress in their treatment.

All residents receive PE time daily. If the weather is nice, residents go outside for that time.
